So Much to SEE and DO!

Let’s talk about many of the advantages of moving and living in Western North Carolina and Murphy! Many clients have come from that area below Georgia: Florida. You know many of the lovely folks from the great state of Florida began their life somewhere up north! That’s why they are referred to as Halfbacks! While a few locals are a bit leery of folks moving to the area from Florida, most realize it’s good for the local economy. Florida folks don’t come to change the way of life here, Florida folks come to live the life locals have enjoyed for years! A small town, mild winters, and a slower pace to life are just some of the reasons to locate here. The taxes are most often lower, people are friendly, home and car insurance are less and so is the traffic! All these things, and so many more reasons, are why folks from Florida, and actually from all over this great country, move to our small community.

I hope you’re checking my website: Your Mountain Dreams it’s there that you can search the area for current homes and land for sale. It’s more current and up to date than Zillow!

NOW ON TO MORE GOOD STUFF! SO MANY THINGS TO DO AND SEE!

Flea Markets, Zip Lines, Rafting, Horseback Riding, Chef run Restaurants, Antiquing, Boutique shops, State Parks! So many fun things to do in our Western Carolina/North Georgia Mountains! This time we will explore the Nantahala Outdoor Center and several Riding Stables and some camping options.

This area boasts several places to zip line but one of our favorites is at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. They even have a MOONLIGHT zip line tour! Check out NOC Zip Lines trips!

This website has rafting and All things that the NOC offers!

I threw this one in because it’s just so different. They call this GLAMPING! Sky Ridge Yurts in Bryson City

For those of you who want a different experience that the whole family can enjoy try HORSEBACK RIDING in the mountains! This first one is close to Murphy and just over the hill from Deckers Flea Market at 129 and 64 west of town. Check out their site: A Step Above

And located just to the east of Blairsville is Brasstown Valley Stables And then there is Appalachian Trail Rides . Located just off the 60 Spur on Cut Cane Rd is this beautiful facility! Terrific barn and wonderful folks will take you on an experience you will never forget. All these stables will offer ALL LEVEL OF RIDERS a fun time!

I always like to make sure you have the list of waterfalls that you and your family and friends can experience while in our area. Some are easy access and some require a bit of a hike. All are worth the effort! 10 Georgia Waterfalls

I am reminded that these areas near the falls can become dangerous when we have rain like we have received this past week or so. Be cautious and heed the warnings when visiting all the falls in the area. The rivers can be swift in a short amount of time! But the flip side to all the rain is that the falls are running at super strength and they are magnificent!

Keep in mind we have farm markets every Saturday in several locations (Murphy and Blairsville) and car racing on a dirt track most Friday nights. The rodeo should be coming to Hayesville in July. We have many fine eateries (that are chef owned) and beautiful shops and boutiques to explore. Most wineries have LIVE music to be enjoyed too! The area folks welcome you warmly and try their best to make your time in our mountains, a time to remember!
