SPRING!

SPRING!

Spring is upon us! We still have two more “winters” to get past. One is Dogwood winter and then Blackberry winter. We have passed Redbud winter a week or so ago. Trees are blooming and buds are popping and the festivals and activities are ramping up! And yes ramps are just about ready! Check out this site if you’re not sure what ramps are or how they are used! What are Ramps?

You still have a week or so for the Wine Highway! Check this site for the member wineries participating this year. Georgia Wine Hwy. It ends March 31 having run all the month of March. There is still time to visit several wineries and fine that favorite wine and location! Georgia wineries are in some of the most beautiful locations!

Ist Annual Arts and Crafts Spring Fling Festival in Brasstown NC 811 Settawig Road takes place THIS WEEKEND! It’s at the same location as Pumpin Chunkin. AND IT’S FREE!

This past weekend I traveled just an hour or so south to The Ball Ground area and visited Gibbs Gardens! Over 300 acres of privately owned landscaped gardens! They had 50 acres of blooming daffodils! If you go to the website, they have updates on what is blooming when so you can time your visit! Or if you’re a more experienced hiker, plan a hike to Daffodil Flats. One is a leisurely stroll and the latter, a challenging hike. The end results of both are thousands of blooming daffodils!

Farmers markets are opening and festivals are being planned. Just a couple of notes: Blairsville Rodeo is June 17-18 at the Union County Saddle Club. (Blairsville Rodeo) The local rodeo in Hayesville is July 3-4. I try to not miss this one as the setting for it is in the most beautiful valley! Downtown Murphy will begin hosting Art Walk on the first Friday evening of the month beginning in May and running through October. Come see what’s new downtown!

Most of these festivals and other activities are on my Facebook page at Your Mountain Dreams or go to my website at Yourmountaindreams.com. I try to keep up the FB page with upcoming events and suggestions of things to do in the area. My experience in this area can provide you and yours the opportunity to live a bit like a local and see and do things off the beaten path.

My experience can also help you find that perfect home or piece of land in our area! This market is still moving quickly. Homes come on the market and are sold in days not weeks! When you’re ready to buy, let me help you search as homes go on our MLS long before they hit places like Zillow and Realtor.com.
