Gatlinburg (including Pigeon Forge and Sevierville) Day tripping was a popular song in 1965 but today day tripping takes on a whole new connotation! A trip to the Gatlinburg area (from Murphy) means a gorgeous drive thru Great Smokey Mountains National Park! It is one of the most beautiful drives in the area. While crossing Rt 441 plan to stop at the highest point at 6643ft at Clingmans Dome!link This view will change your life with its stunning beauty! The Gatlinburg area truly offers something for everyone. I firmly believe that the journey is part of the adventure! So enjoy driving to, and coming home from, the Gatlinburg area. The views are, as always, stunningly beautiful. Take time to pull off the road in designated places, and enjoy that view. Mountain Time is different. Folks here take things at a slower pace. Take the time to breathe in that fresh mountain air. Let your soul be renewed by the mountains in and around the Murphy area, because we are: 2 hours from everywhere.
